Gondan delivers offshore wind service vessel to Edda

Gondan Shipyard has launched a new offshore wind commissioning service operation vessel for Edda Wind.

CASTROPOL, Spain – Gondan Shipyard in Figueras, northwest Spain has launched a new offshore wind Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), ordered by Edda Wind.

The vessel, with a length of 88.3 m (290 ft) and a beam of 19.7 m (64.6 ft), is also equipped for installation of zero-emission hydrogen technology, with support from Norwegian government enterprise Enova SF funding.

The CSOV, which can accommodate 93 technicians and 27 crew members, will support commissioning and construction of the first two phases of the Dogger Bank wind farm off the East Yorkshire coast in the UK North Sea, with a capacity of 3,600 MW

Equipment features include a 3D motion-compensated crane and a motion-compensated gangway with a maximum range of 28 m (92 ft) for personnel transfer and an integrated elevator capable of carrying up to 26 persons.
