RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras has signed two letters of intent (LoIs) with Yinson Production for the Parque das Baleias Integrated Project in the north Campos basin, offshore Brazil.

The LoIs cover provision of an FPSO and operations and maintenance services during the 22-year and six-month charter phase. Estimated combined value of the contracts is around $5.2 billion.

The FPSO, to be installed over the Jubarte field, is due to enter service in 4Q 2024 and will be designed to process 100,000 b/d of oil and 5 MMcm/d of gas.

Petrobras plans to connect 17 subsea wells to the FPSO, comprising nine oil producers and eight water injectors, via a network of flexible pipelines, electro-hydraulic umbilicals, and wet Christmas trees.

The Parque das Baleias area includes the Jubarte, Baleia Anã, Cachalote, Caxaréu, Pirambú and Mangangá fields. Jubarte was the first to be discovered in 2001.

In 2019, Petrobras and Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) agreed to extend the concession term until 2056 for the new unified Jubarte field and other projects in the area.

Current platforms in operation are the P-57, P-58, FPSO Cidade de Anchieta, and FPSO Capixaba, with the latter due to cease operations in 2022.
