SINGAPORE – Tupi B.V. has awarded Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) a $175-million amendment contract covering modifications to the FPSO P-71.

The vessel, which was originally designed for Petrobras’ Tupi field, will instead be deployed at the Itapu field in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil, following modification/integration work at EJA.

The P-71 has been built at the Jurong Shipyard in Espírito Santo. It is 316 m (1,037 ft) long and 54 m (177 ft) wide, and designed to process 150,000 b/d of oil and 6 MMcm/d of natural gas, with oil storage capacity of 1.6 MMbbl and accommodation for 160 people.

It is due to be delivered in 4Q 2022.

In September 2019, Sembcorp Marine subsidiary EJA supplied the newbuild FPSO P-68 to Tupi B.V., currently operating at the ultra-deepwater Berbigão and Sururu fields in the Santos basin.
