THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Excelerate Energy’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Exemplar has started operations in the port of Bahia Blanca, 400 mi (644 km) south of Buenos Aires.
The vessel, with a storage capacity of 150,900 cu m (5.33 MMcf), will deliver LNG for Argentina’s 2021 winter season.
Excelerate developed the Bahia Blanca GasPort, South America’s first LNG import terminal, in 2008 and has also operated GNL Escobar, an LNG import terminal along the Paraná River, since 2011.
