DUBAI, UAE – Shelf Drilling Ltd. has issued an update on its jackup fleet.
According to its latest fleet status report, Shelf listed the jackups Trident 15, Randolph Yost, Galveston Key, and Key Hawaii and the heavy swamp barge Hibiscus as being held for sale. The five rigs are stacked in Malaysia, USA, UAE, Bahrain, and Indonesia, respectively.
Masirah Oil has awarded the Shelf Drilling Tenacious a two-well contract offshore Oman that is expected to start in December 2020. The rig completed a contract with Dubai Petroleum in September 2020.
Adani has awarded the Parameswara a one-well contract offshore India that is expected to begin in late November 2020. The contract includes a one-well option.
In August, Shelf completed the sale of the Trident XIV to an unnamed buyer.
In September, the Trident VIII started a 100-day contract with Unitech offshore Nigeria.
In October, Saudi Aramco suspended the operations on the Main Pass I for up to 12 months. It has also suspended operations on the Main Pass IV following completion of the ongoing out-of-service project through December 2020.
Eni suspended operations on the Key Singapore in October. The rig is on standby in Tunisia.
The Shelf Drilling Mentor completed a contract with Dubai Petroleum in October. The rig is available.
The Shelf Drilling Enterprise is expected to start its contract with Chevron Thailand in late December 2020. The start date was delayed due to COVID-19 related logistical challenges.
Finally, the drilling contractor terminated agreements with affiliates of China Merchants for bareboat charter of two CJ-46 jackup rigs in September.
