ABERDEEN, UK – The Malin Sentinel, the ninth and final newbuild vessel in a £150-million ($195-million) investment program by Sentinel Marine, has arrived in Aberdeen.

The vessel, which sailed from Dalian Port in China via Singapore and the Suez Canal took seven weeks to arrive in her home port. The journey totaled 11,451 mi (18,429 km).

The Malin Sentinel has completed sea trials and now takes up assignments in the North Sea where the emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) will support drilling projects for a range of charterers.

CEO Rory Deans said: “Taking delivery of the Malin Sentinel, which began its journey at the height of global lockdowns meant that this was one of the most challenging deliveries we have faced.”

The Malin Sentinel is 62 m (203 ft) long and has a gross tonnage of 2,173, with a deadweight cargo capacity of 1,500 metric tons (1,653 tons) and a deck cargo capacity of 60 metric tons (66 tons).

The vessel’s arrival marks the end of Phase 2 of the company’s investment program. Phase 3 will see three more newbuild vessels join the fleet.
