COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Maersk Supply Service has extended its contract with Inmarsat for Fleet Xpress maritime broadband connectivity for its 40-strong offshore support vessel fleet.
This includes anchor handlers, subsea support and platform supply vessels, 10 of which have been built within the last three years.
Eric Griffin, vp of Offshore Energy, Inmarsat Maritime said Maersk would also use its new dedicated bandwidth service which is designed to provide its charterers with their own connection through the same terminal and hardware on the vessel.
Fleet Xpress, introduced in March 2016, has been installed on about 7,000 ships.
