The Salamander floating offshore wind partnership of Ørsted, Simply Blue Group and Subsea7 has retrieved floating LiDARs and wave buoy equipment.
All were deployed offshore for a metocean campaign for the proposed Salamander development 35 km offshore Peterhead, eastern Scotland.
The survey, which started in October 2024, was designed to support planning of the project's design, operations and maintenance strategy.
The deployment covered two floating Seawatch wind lidar buoys and a Wavescan buoy to compile meteorological, oceanographic and environmental site data.
Measurements included wave height, wind and current speed as well as other region-specific data to assess the site's characteristics and seasonal conditions.
