EQUANS-Smulders complete work on first of three Hollandse Kust wind platforms

TenneT has taken delivery of the Hollandse Kust (noord) wind farm offshore transformer station platform from the EQUANS-Smulders joint venture.

ARENDONK, Belgium— TenneT has taken delivery of the Hollandse Kust (noord) wind farm offshore transformer station platform from the EQUANS-Smulders joint venture.
The partnership was responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation, connection and testing of the facility in the Dutch North Sea, under a contract awarded in March 2020. All steel construction work and outfitting took place in Belgium and the Netherlands
Construction of the Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) and Hollandse Kust (west Beta) platforms should finish by year-end 2023 and mid-2025, respectively.
The three 700-MW facilities will be TenneT’s fifth, sixth and seventh large-scale grid connections for offshore wind energy in the North Sea.
