OSLO, Norway – TGS has introduced the Wind AXIOM wind data analytics platform.
The service is designed to help organizations assess the opportunities and potential risks and opportunities associated with impending offshore wind projects.
According to the company, it provides interactive feasibility analysis, aggregating multiple critical data categories to facilitate benchmarking of current and future lease rounds.
Wind AXIOM is said to integrate and ‘homogenize’ a wide variety of information, including high-resolution wind resource data, energy assessment, 4C offshore, regulatory and policy intelligence, environmental and marine use restrictions, bathymetry data, transmission infrastructure, and other data sources.
It analyzes all these together to offer insights into the costs and risks of pursuing a particular lease area. The tool, the company claims, helps interested parties assess offshore wind opportunities more quickly.
