Floating Power Plant (FPP) has added three more companies to its End User Advisory Board: Repsol, Irish energy provider ESB, and an unnamed oil and gas major.
The expansion will help support FPP's demonstrator project, P-Demo, which has a €26-million ($26.78-million) grant from the European Commission's Innovation Fund.
P-Demo, otherwise known as the SEAWORTHY initiative, is working on what is claimed to be the world's first floating wind platform to integrates hydrogen production and storage onboard, providing renewable power on demand for local grids.
The first platform due to be deployed offshore Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, combines floating wind and wave energy technologies.
Existing advisory board members include Air Liquide, Capital Energy, Island Innovation and TechnipFMC. Members contribute insights, practical use cases, and experience to help further development and deployment of the technology.
