FREDERICIA, Denmark – Ørsted has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with two South Korean state-owned utilities for the 1.6-GW Incheon offshore wind project.
Korea Southern Power and Korea Midland Power will examine areas of collaboration with Ørsted.
Under the two MoUs, the companies have agreed to contribute to the growth of offshore wind power in Korea and to support the country’s carbon neutrality targets by exploring key areas of collaboration on Ørsted’s Incheon offshore wind project.
The exploration will encompass renewable energy certificate offtake, joint operation and partnerships, as well as technology exchange for offshore wind O&M, while working toward a broader collaboration on developing renewable energy in Korea.
Incheon will be situated over 70 km (43 mi) from the Incheon coastline with the partners working with local residents and fishermen to minimize the impact on the environment and fishing waters.
