Norwegian government closes CO2 storage round bid period

OSLO, Norway — Six companies have submitted applications to Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in connection with an area in the North Sea designated last November for potential storage of CO₂.

The acreage should be awarded by mid-year.

Aker BP, Altera Infrastructure Group, Horisont Energi, Neptune Energy Norge, OMV (Norge) and Wintershall Dea Norway are the six bidders.
