RIO DE JANEIRO Petrobras has started the opportunity disclosure stage (teaser) for the sale of its entire stake in the Uruguá and Tambaú fields in the northern Santos basin.

Petrobras holds 100% interest in both fields.

The Uruguá and Tambaú fields are in the BS-500 concession in water depths ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 m (3,281 to 4,921 ft). The fields are between 140 and 160 km (87 and 99 mi) off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Last year production from the fields was about 5,000 b/d of oil and 918,000 cu m/d of gas.

The FPSO Cidade de Santos MV20 is deployed in the Uruguá field and gathers production from the Tambaú field. Production began in July 2010.

The potential transaction includes the 174-km (108-mi) Uruguá-Mexilhão gas pipeline.
