All platform personnel have been demobilized, and the pipeline has been shut in and depressurized, with all relevant regulatory bodies notified.
Santos said it was working with customers and other parties to manage gas supply arrangements for the time being, with repairs and restoration of full production set to take up to six weeks to complete.
Varanus Island will continue producing at reduced rates.
