PTTEP gains more blocks close to offshore Thailand gas stronghold

In its latest results statement, PTTEP said it had accelerated drilling of new production wells at G1/61 project, comprising the Erawan, Platong, Satun and Funan fields.

BANGKOK, Thailand – PTTEP recently secured two new offshore blocks under Thailand’s 24th bid round.

G1/65 and G3/65 are in the Gulf of Thailand and close to the company’s G1/61 and G2/61 projects.

Offshore Sarawak, the company is teaming up with Malaysian oil and gas companies in the offshore exploration Block SK325.

In its latest results statement, PTTEP said it had accelerated drilling of new production wells at G1/61 project, comprising the Erawan, Platong, Satun and Funan fields, with a view to reaching 400 MMcf/d in mid-2023, 600 MMcf/d late this year and 800 MMcf/d in April 2024.

PTTEP recently took control of the project from former operator Chevron.

FEED work continues for PTTEP’s CCS project at the offshore Arthit Field, and FID should follow later this year.

The company has established a Technology and Carbon Solutions Group that will focus on low-carbon businesses related to renewable energy, power, hydrogen, CCS and CCUS.
