MEISE, Belgium — The latest development of the Zawtika gas field development in the Gulf of Moattama offshore Myanmar is into the fourth (1D) phase of construction, with final commissioning scheduled for 2025.

The latest phase will deliver about 400 MMcf/d at peak.

Offshore construction, which started late last year, comprises drilling of eight new wells, ZWP12 to ZWP19, and associated pipelines with two pipeline end manifolds.

Heavy-lift specialist Sarens is supporting loading of the new 5,000-t ZWP12 and ZP15 jackets at Vung Tau port in Vietnam for the Vietsovpetro joint venture.

Sarens deployed four 588-ton strandjacks to pull the jackets into their final position on the transportation barge.

According to the company, loading of the 140.3-m tall ZWP12 jacket was delayed by two days due to the approach of Typhoon Noru, which was then followed by winds of up to 24 knots and heavy rain.

Sarens used submersible and deck pumps, in combination with the barge's internal ballasting system, to balance the barge's level at the quayside.
