KUCHING, Malaysia— Brooke Dockyard & Engineering Works Corp. has finished construction of offshore structures for the Timi sweet gas field development offshore Sarawak, operated by Sarawak Shell.
The newly completed substructure and topsides were due to be loaded up and transported for installation at the Timi Field, 202 km northwest of Miri, Sarawak. The 150-m-long substructure weighs 3,222 metric tons; this and the topsides were fabricated at Brooke’s Sejingkat and Demak yards.
Timi’s wellhead platform, which will feature a solar and wind hybrid renewable power system, is said to be about 60% lighter than a conventional tender-assisted drilling wellhead platform.
The facilities will produce up to 50,000 boe/d at peak production with the gas sent through an 80-km pipeline to the F23 production hub via an 80 km pipeline.
Sarawak Shell and partners Petronas Carigali and Brunie Energy Exploration took a final investment decision (FID) on the project in August 2021.The development is within the area covered by the SK318 production sharing contract.
In early September, Sarawak Shell Berhad (80%, operator), together with Petronas Carigali (20%), took a FID to develop the Rosmari-Marjoram gas project. Rosmari-Marjoram fields are situated 220 km off the coast of Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia, and will be powered by renewable energy, using solar power for the offshore platform.
