Offshore staff
PERTH, Australia – Woodside Energy has completed demobilization of its offshore personnel in Myanmar, along with a team under contract from Transocean, following a recent drilling campaign.
During the country’s currently unstable situation, all Woodside’s international employees based in Myanmar have been relocated.
The company is also providing support to its Myanmar nationals, including continuity of employment and provision of employee assistance and security services.
Last week, CEO and Managing Director Peter Coleman said at the company’s annual general meeting: “The events of recent months are deeply distressing. We condemn the violence and the human rights violations.
“We have…ceased all exploration activities in country...We do not have any direct commercial arrangements with any Tatmadaw-connected organizations, nor do we have any producing assets in Myanmar.
“Until we see the outlook for Myanmar and its political stability has improved, we will keep all business decisions under review.”
