MELBOURNE, Australia — Oil production from the Maari Field in the PMP 38160 permit offshore New Zealand is averaging 5,025 bbl/d, according to partner Cue Energy's recent results update.
Operator OMV New Zealand had commissioned a workover on the MR6a well, which entailed suspending the existing production zone and perforating the Matapo and Kap100 reservoirs to produce oil from these zones.
Operations were delayed, however, due to the need for repairs to the workover system. The program should now be completed by the end of July.
Work also continues to extend Maari’s life beyond the current December 2027 permit expiry, and the partners are assessing other opportunities for production enhancement, cost control and CO2 reduction.
