Brazil’s regulator ANP has extended the production phase for the Golfinho license in the offshore Espirito Santo basin by 11 years until 2042.

Brazil’s regulator ANP has extended the production phase for the Golfinho license in the offshore Espirito Santo basin by 11 years until 2042.

It follows ANP’s approval last November of operator BW Energy’s field development plan.

"The extension supports our long-term plans for developing the Golfinho field, initially through improved operational performance of existing infrastructure and later targeting several proven low risk in-field development opportunities,” said Carl K. Arnet, CEO of BW Energy

The company acquired a 100% interest in the license in August 2023 under a transaction covering the Golfinho and Camarupim Clusters. Water depths vary from 1,300 m to 2,200 m.

Hydrocarbons are produced through the FPSO Cidade de Vitória, which BW Energy also acquired and has operated since November 2023. The Golfinho field came onstream in 2007.
