Sakhalin Energy retains KCA Deutag for platform drilling

Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. has extended KCA Deutag’s drilling services contract for three platforms offshore Sakhalin Island by four years until May 31, 2021.

ABERDEEN, UK – Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. (Sakhalin Energy) has extended KCA Deutag’s drilling services contract for three platforms offshore Sakhalin Island by four years until May 31, 2021.
The extension also covers a full supply chain service including drilling and rig maintenance on theLunskoye-A, Piltun-Astokhskoye-B, and Molikpaq platforms, warehousing, and management of spare parts and procurement.
KCA Deutag employs around 300 staff at its Sakhalin operation, around 80% of which are Russian nationals.
The group’s offshore operations are supported by an onshore base in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and a supply base in Kholmsk, the location for its logistics hub and drill pipe management facilities.
The company has worked for Sakhalin Energy since 2003.
