Total has produced first gas from the Badamyar field offshore Myanmar, 220 km (137 mi) south of Yangon.

PARIS – Total has produced first gas from the Badamyar field offshore Myanmar, 220 km (137 mi) south of Yangon.
Development involved installation of a new wellhead platform connected to the existingYadana production facilities, drilling of four horizontal wells on Badamyar, and the addition of a new compression platform.
The project, launched in mid 2014, will extend plateau output from Yadana to 8 bcm/yr beyond 2020.
Total’s partners in the project are Chevron-Unocal, PTTEP, and Myanmar’s state-owned MOGE.
