OSLO, Norway – Kangean Energy Indonesia has contracted BW Offshore for a gas FPSO for the Terang Sirasun Batur fields offshore Indonesia.
BW Offshore has signed the $875-million contract with its two Indonesian partners, PT Pelayaran Trans Parau Sorat and PT Energi Consulting Indonesia.
The scope includes delivery of the FPSO, risers, umbilicals, and mooring system. BW Offshore also will install and operate the vessel, which will have a capacity of 340 MMcf/d of gas compression and conditioning, with the gas exported through the East Java Gas Pipeline. BW’s APL subsidiary will design, build, and install the mooring system.
The charter contract is for a fixed 10-year period, with further options of up to four years. First gas is due early in 2012.
