MONACO -- SBM Offshore says the FPSO P-57 has started producing oil on the Petrobras-operated Jubarte field in the Campos basin, two months ahead of schedule.

The initial contract to supply the FPSO was signed in February 2008, with delivery planned 33 months later offshore Brazil followed by two months scheduled for installation and hook-up. Construction was performed in Singapore and Brazil, where the contractual requirement of 65% Brazilian content was exceeded.

SBM Offshore is operating the facility for the first three years of production at Jubarte, 80 km (49.7 mi) off the Espírito Santo coast in a water depth of 1,260 m (4,134 ft).

The FPSO will produce 17° API crude, and is equipped to process up to 180,000 b/d of oil and 2 MMcm/d (70.6 MMcf/d) of gas, with production from 22 interconnected wells. Of these, 15 are producers and seven water injectors.

Offshore West Africa, Aseng Production Co. - a joint venture between SBM Offshore and GEPetrol, Compania Nacional de Petroleos de Guinea Ecuatorial - has secured a $ 602- million project debt facility. This is to finance investment in the lease of the FPSOAseng, which will serves offshore Equatorial Guinea for Noble Energy.
