CALGARY, Canada -- Ithaca Energy says production from the Beatrice complex in the UK central North Sea has benefited from various programs performed this spring.
Performance of produced water treatment facilities has improved and overall uptime enhanced through well optimization activities at the Beatrice Alpha and Bravo platforms.
Elsewhere in the central sector, Ithaca is a partner in the Cook field, where production has been impacted by a 70-day maintenance shutdown of the host FPSO, the Shell-operated Anasuria.
The Ithaca-operatedAthena field started production in late May. Thereafter the focus was on completing and optimizing activities required for stable and efficient operations from the wells and the BW Athena FPSO.
Following intervention to tackle ablockage in production tubing, the P1 well is now onstream. But the Athena partners have opted not to conduct a rig-based workover to fully remove the blockage as reserves associated with the well should be drained by other wells on the field.
Timing of water breakthrough at the Athena wells, along with the efficiency of the sweep of oil through the reservoir assisted by water injection, will be critical to predicting the ultimate field production profile, Ithaca adds.
