Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has authorized Lundin to drill exploration well 8/5-1 in the southern Norwegian North Sea, using the jackupMærsk Guardian.
Drilling should start in January 2013, and will last for at least 54 days. This could double in the event of a discovery, in which case a production test will be performed.
The location is in license PL 453S, 165 km (102 mi) southwest of Egersund, in 72 m (236 ft) water depth.
