OSLO, Norway – Statoil has consent from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to modify the Heidrun field complex in the Norwegian Sea. The modifications are connected with the Heidrun Low Pressure Production project.
The consent authorizes modifications to parts of the field’s production facility. The purpose is to reduce inlet pressure from certain wells to increase oil production.
Heidrun is in the Haltenbanken region, around 225 km (140 mi) west of Brønnøysund. It has been developed using a floating concrete TLP placed over a seabed template.
