PARIS – GDF SUEZ has started gas production from the second of two development wells on the Juliet field in the UK southern North Sea.
The field, 39 km (24 mi) east of the Lincolnshire coastline in England, came onstream in early January. It produces at its plateau rate of 80 MMcf/d (2.3 MMcm/d).
Produced gas heads through a new 22-km (13.7-mi)subsea pipeline to the Pickerill A platform and is then transported ashore through an existing pipeline to the Theddlethorpe gas terminal.
The company discovered Juliet in block 47/14b in December 2008, and considers the Rotliegendes Leman sandstone reservoir fully appraised, with reserves of 11.6 MMboe.
