Statoil taps Aker for Heidrun risers/tensioning equipment

Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions a new frame agreement to supply refurbishment and storage of compensation equipment used to stabilize and control the production risers on the Heidrun platform in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions a new frame agreement to supply refurbishment and storage of compensation equipment used to stabilize and control the production risers on the Heidrun platform in the Norwegian Sea.
Aker Solutions’ scope includes new tapered stress joints and a complete tension system for theHeidrun TLP, and refurbishment/preservation of various stress joints, tensioning cylinders, tensioner frames, and associated components.
The company’s drilling technologies division in Horten, Norway, will manage the program, with storage performed at Kristiansund on the Norwegian west coast.
This is a four-year contract, extendable by a further four years.
