MOSCOW– Gazprom expects gas production from the Moc Tinh and Hai Thach fields in blocks 05–2 and 05–3 to reach 2 bcm/yr during 2016.
The company joinedPetroVietnam as a partner in the blocks in 2013.
Development is based on two production platforms, an integrated gas treatment platform, a floating storage terminal for liquid hydrocarbons, and a submarine pipeline and cable system.
Construction of production wells should be completed during the first half of 2017.
Gazprom’s exploration programoffshore Vietnam has led to identification of 22 prospective formations, seven of which have been prepared for exploratory drilling.
The company has drilled two deepwater appraisal wells into the Than Bien formation, discovering a field with a methane content of up to 98%.
Current activities include reinterpretation of seismic data and assessment of gas reserves, which will serve as the basis for an exploration feasibility study at the discovered field.
