Offshore staff
CALGARY, Canada — Cenovus projects net offshore production in the range 60,000 to 70,000 boe/d.
The figure includes a range of 10,000 bbl/d to 15,000 bbl/d from fields offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, and it reflects the impact of the SeaRose FPSO life extension program, expected to begin at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast in January. This is designed to support production from the White Rose Field.
In late third-quarter 2023, following its return the field location, the vessel should resume production.
Cenovus’ budgeted offshore capex of $850 milllion to $950 million will be directed mainly at construction of facilities for the West White Rose development in the same region.
It now anticipates first oil from West White Rose in the first half of 2026, building to a peak of about 45,000 bbl/d in 2028.
