TRONDHEIM, Norway— OKEA has started gas production from Hasselmus, its first operated field development offshore Norway.
Norske Shell discovered gas and oil in Hasselmus in 1999 with the exploration well 6407/9-9 T2, on the western edge of the Trøndelag platform in the Norwegian Sea.
OKEA developed the field as a subsea tieback to the Draugen platform, which Shell operated previously, Hasselmus will produce 4,400 boe/d at peak and will restart exports of associated gas and NGL from Draugen.
“We appreciate the good collaboration with our partners, suppliers and a dedicated organization, which has enabled the delivery of the project ahead of schedule and below budget,” said OKEA CEO Svein J. Liknes.
Other partners in the project are Petoro and M Vest Energy.
