BANGKOK, Thailand— PTTEP has ramped up production from its G1/61 gas project in the Gulf of Thailand, encompassing the Erawan, Platong, Satun and Funan fields, to 400 MMcf/d, the company reported in its latest results statement.
Drilling of new production wells continues, and four further wellhead platforms will be installed on the fields later this year, doubling overall rates to 800 MMcf/d by next April, as stipulated in the terms of the production sharing contract.
In addition, the company secured two new exploration blocks in the Gulf of Thailand, G1/65 and G3/65. Any future discoveries in the permits could be potentially sped up through tie-ins to infrastructure serving the company’s existing projects.
