SOUTHBANK, AustraliaKaroon Energy has restarted production from BM-S-40 license offshore Brazil after completing maintenance works on the two production trains on the FPSO Cidade de Itajaí.

Output is above 32,000 bbl/d of oil from six of seven production wells, including the two Patola wells, with rates continuing to ramp up.

Over the coming week, rates should peak above 40,000 bbl/d, representing flush production following the shut-in. Thereafter, production should fall back to a stabilized rate of about 33,000 to 35,000 bbl/d before entering a more gradual natural decline phase through 2024 and beyond.

An annual maintenance shutdown planned for July could be rescheduled in view of the work that has already taken place, the company added.
