ATHENS, Greece—Energean has produced first gas from its North El Amriya and North Idku (NEA/NI) shallow-water development in the Gulf of Suez offshore Egypt.
Gas is flowing from the NEA#6 well. The remaining three wells should go onstream later this year.
NEA/NI, containing an estimated 39 MMboe (88% gas), should deliver 15,000 to 20,000 boe/d at peak next year.

The NEA and NI concessions are both 100% owned by Energean. While operated through separate 50/50 JV companies, they both fall under the overall management of Abu Qir Petroleum.
Development involves subsea tiebacks of the four wells to Energean's North Abu Qir PIII platform.
The company sanctioned the project in January 2021.
