Both wells are now exporting gas through the subsea Saturn Banks pipeline system, which underwent repressurization following final connection, dewatering and backgassing of the system’s outer section to the Southwark field wells.
In parallel, additional modifications have finished at the Saturn Banks Reception Facilities onshore at the Bacton terminal in Norfolk, to de-risk the potential for future shutdowns.
At the Southwark A2 well, hydraulic stimulation operations should continue into December. The well should deliver first gas by year-end. A1 will then be completed.
