CNOOC starts up two gas developments offshore China

CNOOC has started production from two new gas projects in the western South China Sea.

HONG KONG  CNOOC has started production from two new gas projects in the western South China Sea.

Dongfang 1-1 Gas Field Southeast Zone and Ledong 22-1 Gas Field South Block Development Project, both of which came onstream ahead of schedule, are in the Yinggehai region in an average water depth of 90 m.

They are connected to processing facilities at the Dongfang 1-1 and Ledong 22-1 platforms, respectively.

CNOOC plans four development wells, two subsea production systems, two oil and gas transportation pipelines and two umbilicals, with peak production of about 44 MMcf/d of gas.

The company holds a 100% interest in both projects.
