LONDON – Shell Trinidad and Tobago has started gas production from the offshore Colibri development, in Block 22 and NCMA-4 in the North Coast Marine Area (NCMA).

It follows an amendment to the Block 6 production sharing contract for the Manatee field, which allows for delivery of gas both to Trinidad and Tobago’s domestic market and internationally through the Atlantic LNG venture.

Colibri is a backfill project that should add around 30,000 boe/d of gas in the near term, building to a peak of close to 43,000 boe/d (250 MMcf/d) via four subsea gas wells, tied back to the Poinsettia platform in the NCMA acreage.

Shell’s co-venturer in Colibri is the Trinidad and Tobago national oil company Heritage Petroleum Company Limited, which has interests of 10% and 20% respectively in Block 22 and NCMA-4.
