RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras achieved record presalt production from its fields offshore Brazil last year, averaging 1.95 MMboe/d.
This represented 70% of the company’s total production, and is twice as much as the total presalt output from five years earlier.
Late last month the FPSO Guanabara arrived at the Mero field in the pre-salt Santos basin. The vessel, the first at the field, should start operating later this year.
At the Sépia field in the same basin, the FPSO Carioca, which came onstream last August, is now connected to three new producing wells with production above 130,000 b/d.
Petrobras also achieved record use of the gas it produced last year (97.2%), supporting its measures to reduce its emissions and deliver higher carbon efficiency.
