OSLO, Norway – Equinor has secured permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to deploy a pressure-boosting pump on the Vigdis field in North Sea license 089.
The installation is designed to accelerate oil production and increase oil recovery from the field in the Tampen area, in between the Snorre, Statfjord, and Gullfaks fields.
Equinor commissioned OneSubsea in late 2018 to deliver the boosting system, including subsea template and trawling protection.
Vigdis came onstream in 1997 and features seven subsea templates and two satellite wells connected to the Snorre A platform.
Aker BP has the PSA’s approval to use Odfjell Drilling’s semisubmersible Deepsea Stavanger for a program on the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea.
This involves drilling and completion of well 6507/5-B-7 H; re-completion of well J-3 H (Gråsel); and P&A of well 6507/5-A-3 H.
