PERTH, Australia – Woodside Burrup and the North West Shelf (NWS) Project partners have finalized arrangements with the Western Australian government concerning the offshore Pluto field.
These allow Pluto feed gas to be supplied via an interconnector pipeline for processing at the NWS Project’s onshore Karratha Gas Plant (KGP).
Last month, Woodside Burrup and the NWS Project executed gas processing agreement covering around 3 MM metric tons (3.3 MM tons) of LNG and 24.7 petajoules of domestic gas at KGP from 2022-2025.
Woodside has also agreed with the State to market and make available a further 45.6 petajoules of domestic gas from its NWS equity position from 2025.
CEO Peter Coleman said: “Connecting the Pluto and NWS facilities accelerates the production of offshore Pluto gas and provides flexible access to emerging LNG processing capacity.”
Construction started earlier this month on the new infrastructure required at KGP and the 5-km (3.1 mi), 30-in. Pluto-KGP Interconnector along the existing Dampier to Bunbury natural gas pipeline corridor.
