FORNEBU, Norway – Equinor has awarded Aker Solutions a framework agreement covering maintenance and modifications services at the Peregrino field offshore Brazil.
The four-year contract includes an option for a two-year extension.
Peregrino is a heavy oil field in licenses BM-C-7 and BM-C-47, 85 km (52.8 mi) offshore in the Campos basin, in water depths of 100 m (328 ft).
Phase Two of the development, due to start production next year, involves the addition of a third fixed wellhead platform (WHP-C) and drilling of new horizontal production wells with artificial lift, provided by downhole electric submersible pumps.
Multiphase export booster pumps will pump oil, gas and water transported via pipelines to the field’s existing FPSO for processing.
Produced water will be returned following separation process to the WHP-C for reinjection.
Equinor’s goals are to extend the field’s productive life and to increase recoverable reserves by 273 MMbbl.
Linda Litlekalsøy Aase, executive vice president, electrification, maintenance and modifications at Aker Solutions, said: “Together we will...work to extend the lifetime of Equinor’s assets and find low-carbon solutions where possible.”
