VANCOUVER, Canada – Trillion Energy International has issued an update on its South Akcakoca Gas-Basin (SASB) field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
Since production started in 2007, the development has produced 41.66 bcf of gas.
The development, in water depths of less than 100 m (328 ft) off northwest Turkey, comprises 23 wells, four offshore platforms, associated pipelines, and a gas processing plant.
Recently, Trillion took action to extend the life of the Phase I and II wells by lowering producing pressure. This led to a 50% increase in gas production to 1,517 MMcf/d.
Currently the company is working on a re-development program for the field that could raise production levels substantially through accessing additional proven gas reserves.
President and CEO Arthur Halleran said: “Natural gas sales in Turkey have maintained consistent strength of between $6.00 and $7.60/MMcf, a substantial premium to North American markets.”
