Tests confirm Lancaster FPSO crew member has virus

Hurricane Energy has confirmed that a crew member on the FPSO Aoka Mizu at the Lancaster oil field west of Shetland has been evacuated to the mainland for medical reasons.

GODALMING, UK – Hurricane Energy has confirmed that a crew member on the FPSO Aoka Mizu at the Lancaster oil field west of Shetland has been evacuated to the mainland for medical reasons.
The individual, transported onshore by an HM Coastguard helicopter, subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Hurricane is assisting the FPSO’s operator Bluewater Lancaster Production (UK) with its response. Bluewater is said to be working within the guidelines provided by NHS Scotland, Health Protection Scotland, and Oil & Gas UK in determining the next steps.
Production operations at Lancaster have not been affected.
