PETERHEAD, UK – Surface preparation and protective coatings specialist Davidsons Blast Services (DBS) has completed a program for a well intervention system.
Maritime Developments Ltd. (MDL) contracted the company to blast clean and apply a three-coat topsides paint system to itsm-IDP (integrated deployment package).
This is a new flexible pipe deployment and retrieval system developed for subsea pipe manufacturer Magma Global.
m-IDP is said to be a compact, multi-function system designed for installation, retrieval, and storage of 3-in. 15-ksim-pipe, Magma Global’s lightweight pipe, which is designed to help reduce the costs and risks associated with light well intervention.
Surface preparation and coating work for the MDL system took three months to complete, using a three-coat topsides coating. A DBS NACE-qualified inspector performed all associated testing.
