ABERDEEN, UK – Wood Group will provide operating services to Antin Infrastructure Partners for the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) pipeline in the UK North Sea for up to 10 years, subject to regulatory and other consents.

Antin has agreed to acquire BP’s share of CATS taking its interest in the system, and the deal is close to completion.

CATS transports gas 404 km (251 mi) from the UK central North Sea to a terminal in Teesside, northeast England, for processing. The system currently serves 34 producing fields. In 2013, it transported 13% of the UK’s domestic gas production.

Wood Group PSN will act as the duty holder of the CATS terminal and pipeline, with day-to-day responsibility for operations. A dedicated Wood Group Kenny team based in Glasgow, Scotland, will be integrated into the operating services team to provide pipeline management.
