(Oslo) Norway's government has announced the new acreage made available for bids under the country's Predefined Areas 2006 (APA 2006) scheme. The number of blocks on offer has been expanded to 192 full and part blocks, making it the third largest announcement since Norway's first ever licensing round in 1965.

The acreage is spread between the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea. Bids are due in by September 29, with production licenses set to be awarded in December.
