Socotherm to provide protective coatings for Spain's first major offshore gas trunkline

(Valencia) Socotherm is to provide coating and insulation for Enagas' new Balearic Submarine Gas Pipeline, connecting eastern Spain with the Balearic Islands. The Euro 8 m contract involves providing a three-layer polyolefin external anti-corrosion coating and internal flow coating with epoxy paint: these will be applied to 270-km of 20-in. pipes carrying gas from the Denia compressor station, near Valencia, to Ibiza and Majorca, in a water depth of up to 1,000 m. Coating work will be performed from Socotherm's plant in southern Spain.
