In the Bulgarian sector, the Kamchia-1 well is expected to spud in April, targeting a 27-bcf (765 MMcm) gas prospect.
Seven other nearby leads and prospects have been identified on 3D seismic with combined prospective resources of 102 bcf (2.9 bcm). Any finds could be developed through theGalata offshore production infrastructure.
Offshore Romania, Petroceltic plans one well each on theMuridava and Est Cobalcescu blocks. However, the prospects to be tested remain subject to interpretation of recently acquired 3D seismic data – this has confirmed the presence of the main exploration plays identified in vintage 2D data.
These include Eocene and Cretaceous oil plays and Pliocene and Miocene gas plays with potential resources on the blocks in the range 1-2 tcf (28-57 bcm).
